I am a young girl with a tailor degree, who has been fortunate enough to get an internship at Önling. I have been an intern for the last 4 months, and the purpose was to gain a lot of experience in having and running your own business. I have an incredible interest in clothes and would like to open my own business one day. As a newcomer to the clothing industry, it has been very exciting to get insight into a different kind of business. A company that has both clothes and yarns - and is even running the business sustainably. It is super cool that someone wants to make a difference!
While I have been with Önling, I have been allowed to participate in a lot of exciting activities. I have been trying out many different tasks, among other things; customer service, assisted customers in the showroom and packed orders, counting inventory, packing and preparing for fairs and have taken pictures and edited them for the webshop.
"I have learned a lot about running a clothing company.
It's definitely hard work and busy times in between,
but it is incredibly exciting and worth it."
In addition to that, I've been a bit involved with social media activities. I have been updating Önling's Pinterest account with everything new from the webshop and a lot of knitting inspiration, participated in some marketing meetings, where newsletters, competitions and knitalongs have been planned.
It has been a great experience to be an intern at Önling. It's a super nice place to be, there is a creative and good atmosphere among the staff. It's a bit like a small family. I have learned a lot about running a clothing company. It's definitely hard work and busy times in between, but it is incredibly exciting and worth it.
As a side effect to all my learnings, I have begun knitting! I did not see that coming, and it's quite addictive, to say the least. It's hard not to be tempted when you spend all day looking at all the delicious yarns every day.
I have set a goal for myself to be able to knit the Magnum sweater, which I have fallen completely in love with! It may be a bit of a mouthful, so let's see if I succeed. Fingers crossed :-)
